The market continued to gather pace in October and it was really pleasing to see people we know landing good contracts and starting big, challenging permanent roles. We’ll talk in greater depth about market activity, with a specific focus on the North of England, in our second ‘How’s the Market’ report, which is due out in a couple of weeks (sign up for a copy here).
‘Business as usual’ was successful at Laudale in October; we made placements and took requirements with new and existing clients. We get a lot of repeat business at Laudale, which we love as it means we’re constantly learning more about our clients’ businesses. At the same time, we don’t rest on our laurels, and we were fortunate to meet some interesting new prospects this month, submitting proposals for some very nice pieces of work.
There were several “firsts” for Laudale this month, too. We said “Happy 1st Anniversary” to our wonderful colleague and Marketing Manager, Natalie Asprey, who’s had an outstanding year; we welcomed the amazing Beckie Taylor to Laudale HQ for our inaugural #MyTechJourney podcast, expertly hosted by the talented Kyle Daniels; and we agreed the first formal engagement of our ‘agile talent’ proposition, which will deliver greater value and a better experience to clients and candidate in the interim talent market.
Our breakfast event series, Transformation Stories, took significant strides forward this month, too, as we confirmed 3 excellent speakers for Q1 of 2019, and we expect to have a full schedule for the year confirmed soon, so watch this space. Added to that, we’ve started planning for our first Architecture meet-up with Shop Direct Group in Liverpool in January, which you can learn more about by expressing your interest here.
In between all of this we managed some great face-time with clients up and down the country. We’re extremely privileged at Laudale to get front-row seats to some really interesting change agendas, and this month we’ve spent time with clients from Private Equity to Social Housing, to FinTech, all in challenging and complex strategic situations. The highlight this month was dinner with one of the most people-focused CEO we know, which turned into 3 hours of coaching! (thanks again, Brian).
Finally, we booked our client Christmas drinks! Yes, that time of year is upon us… we’re looking forward to getting a good crowd together in Manchester on 6th December.P’
I’ll finish this month-in-review by saying a BIG THANKS to the kind people in our network who continue to offer us their time and support, helping us build our future proposition… you know who you are.
Now for a big push in November… have a great month!
